Move Along Poem by Nathalia Hunter

Move Along

Camping out,
Watching stars.
Cool air:
Feel the breeze.

Moving water,
Waves pounding,
White bubbles
Float along.

Crushed shells turn to sand;
Place your hand down.
Make an imprint.

One foot foreward,
One foot behind,
Take a walk and never look back.

Hi Nathalia, I found your poem in the 'new poems' section here and read this one. I love to see points of views from younger poets-very simple. I like the whole poem until I read the very last line. That line to me says don't look back at 'good things' (in my opinion) because you have the fun/happy events and refreshing hand in the sand imprint (which I understand to be your contribution to the world/your mark so to speak) and I think I'd love to see a diff. ending because I love looking back at footprints on the beach especially near the ocean and seeing the waves and how they wash away the imprints. I will have to read your others too. I've read two great books on poetry: Spark Notes How to Write Poetry and The Complete Idiot's Guide to Writing Poetry-YOU SHOULD CHECK THEM OUT IF YOU LOVE POETRY :) ....you will not be dissapointed. Best of wishes to you. ~Christine
