Moving On Poem by Ana M

Moving On

After so many memory struggles,

Between the two of us

I can finally move on without concern.

I was treated as if I were a commodity.

Something to simply sell when needed to repair or delight

You robbed me of the one thing that kept me a child.

But as I get older, I shall never see you again.

As you walk away without thinking about me

saying 'God has a special place for you'

The Lord himself will punish you for the sins and falsehoods you did against me when I was 16 years old.

Giving me verse after verse from the Bible

God should send you to hell.

I'm not envious of you.

I don't care for you

However, the song

'Golden Hour' is the song you gave for me.

The one I was discouraged to listen to since the touch of you might return

I can finally listen to without discomfort.

And rejoice that it is over.
