He floated like a butterfly and stung like a bee
The scientific boxer Muhammad Ali
His legendary status seems to grow and grow
But time has left him looking older and slow.
He said I'm the greatest he well may have been
But obviously his better days he has seen
He was never found to be wanting when put to the test
And in his prime he took on and beat the best.
He danced around the ring like a sprightly Spring foal
But his gruelling fights with Holmes, Frazier and Foreman on his body took toll
The best Heavyweight Boxer in the World on his day
But for his legendary status some price he did pay.
Though now a shadow of what he used to be
In his boxing prime not one greater than he
Perhaps the greatest living boxer in Boxing's Hall of Fame
Muhammad Ali's is a legendary name.
