Multi-Colored Rooftop Twilight Poem by Grant House

Multi-Colored Rooftop Twilight

Chromatic twilight sky here speaking
I cry out again for peace
Stop your fighting
Settle down
Sit here with me on this rooftop
Raise a glass and feast

Pledge an oath to life
Play your ancient instruments and sing
Bellow out your poetry
Thrill us with adventures
Wear yourself out with laughter
Forgetting and remembering

Brilliant evervescent after-sunset horizon halo
I shout outloud in colors this urgent plea
Shake it off
Take a moment
Contemplate for godsake what you're doing
For a start, remember me

Study, question everything
Challenge all you have ever known
Waken that fierce epiphany inside you
Your timeless twilight whispers in your ear
Do you love me when I dress like this
Will you let me take you home

In the daytime
Tell your friends about our sweet affair
Lovers entwined in spirit
Deeply sharing sacred knowledge
The secrets of the Universe, but more
In this infinite world of possibilities, I care

Will it be revealed, our love
Beyond the senses what it is you feel
Spinning planet, suspended vastness
Darkness shattered
Edges where we live our lives
Oblivious in the daily sunlight wheel

Unconcealed Universe twinkles on
Twilight here and I am fairly screaming
Don't you hear me, I am you
Your awareness is the secret
Attention guides your stars
The stuff of life and love and dreaming

Wake up, your rooftop twilight is imploring
Complicit night is coming with no alibis
Careening to the west
Divine nature calls you
Tells the truth when truth is called for
Heart without words replies

From this roof top perch, I see you
Yes, my dear, I recognize that you are me
I love you as myself
I see us in your colors
Our differences make us stronger
And alive as we can be

Vivid multi-colored pallette
Illuminate our world below
Celebrate our diverse community
Reveal the secret map to peace
Guide us on life's journey
Show us the way to go
