Music Poem by Tina Baaklini

Music

She's known by Mousike to the Greeks,
A name soft, tender, and meek.

She is the daughter of Zeus,
And one of the nine muses.

From the cradle to the grave,
Music in our heart is engraved.

Our mums soothed us with lullabies,
Dear ones will bid us farewell with hymns and elegies.

Music is celebration;
We worship God with sung prayers and invocation.

In rhythm, the raindrops fall,
With chirps, birds welcome each morn.

Music is heard in the blowing breeze,
And in the rustle of leaves.

Soldiers march to wars at the sound of drums;
Nations hail with songs their freedom.

Through songs, lyric poetry was introduced in the 11th century by the troubadours;
With nursery rhymes, kids are learning their alphabet at schools.

Cows produce more milk when hearing relaxed music sound;
Once they hear the pungi, cobras remain hypnotized on the ground.

Music helps plants grow, as science reveals;
This proves that music is vibes affecting our aura,
Or electromagnetic field.

Plants and animals have auras too,
Just like me and you.

Through the ages, some yogis and Sufis
Could hear music in the universe while meditating.
It is believed that it's the music of planets spinning;
Some say it resembles a lot to the 9th Symphony of Beethoven.

If by chance you feel worried and struggle,
Sometimes, music is all you need to feel better.
