Music is everything.
Pay attention
To your slippers shuffling across the floor
To cereal pouring into a glass bowl
To the opening and closing of the refrigerator.
Listen
As you chop carrots and lettuce and broccoli.
Each sound unique and beautiful
From the musical tinkling of the cereal
To the random rhythmic beating of clothes in the dryer.
Music is
The key sliding into the ignition
The turning of the key
The engine roaring to life
This is the music, the anthem, the song
Of people, of living, of time
Music is life,
And this is the music of life.
