Psychologists would explain it one way (I will not go into that now) But musicians and producers call it a Hook and it does what it is intended to do. I am currently writing some lyrics for an up and coming local band and have to eschew my poetic sensibilities and employ a more commercial angle to get their songs Stuck in your head.
