Musing 74 Poem by shuvo chakraborty

Musing 74

What difference betwixt the fire sacred
And which lit the pyre?
Both are of fire woods from forest natural,
Articles identical fuelling the selfsame burns
Emitting heat constant and ashes blowing,
May the rituals and sermons are different slight
But being enchanted by the priest same in mourning or in mirth,
Faces pleasure browed with procession bridal in summer mirth
Now in countenance warped mourning pursuing the dead.
Clouds of oblivion will drape the both next autumn
Save by the blood common with warm commemoration.
