My 16 Year Old Pea Pod Poem by Scott Martin

My 16 Year Old Pea Pod

My 16 Year Old Pea Pod

We had a little pea pod, the cutest of them all,

Brought her home one day, so lovely and so small.

She loved her new environment, especially her bed,

Oh how much she smiled, with little hair on her head.

Fixing tea for daddy, with her little kitchen set,

Telling him to drink up, “Another serving daddy? ”, “You bet.”

Pushing little shopping carts, with mommy in the store,

To grab some extra items, just to have a little more.

Roller skating down the sidewalk, having so much fun,

Swimming in the neighbor’s pool and soaking up the sun.

Going off to kindergarten, making not a fuss,

Wearing her Barbie back pack, and waiting for the bus.

Walking home from grade school, in the backyard we could see,

Carrying her homework, not knowing what she’d be.

Going on to Junior High, with all the big kid’s now,

Becoming a Cheerleader and making Mom & Dad so proud.

Now she’s sweet little sixteen, my pea pod’s grown so much.

With a lot more hair on her head, and I still Love her OH SO MUCH! ! !
