My Addiction Poem by Courtney Beaudry

My Addiction

Under the dark cover of night
I scream, against this worldly fight
My heart pulses blood in my veins
Though by him my heart has been maimed
Like a poison drawn from his lips
Passed to me by his seductive kiss
Now it courses through to pull me down
Because I want him a cure cannot be found

I'm addicted, like those ones to the pill
I want the sweetness that in the end will kill
The more of me I give, the less of me he wants
But his graceful smile to my heart it taunts
