My Addiction Poem by Melissa June

My Addiction

Your a drug to me, but I need you to survive
I indulge you, making me feel more and more alive
Loving the feeling of this high
Then as fast as it came.... it passes bye
Back to earth, back to reality
Feeling worthless, feeling guilty
So ashamed, yet I indulge you once again
When this cycle brakes, I know not when
Until I know how to turn you from my enemy
A delicious curse is what you shall remain to me
Forever having to consume you
But to one day, not let it be you that I turn too
My dependence on you will end, closing the curtain
On this deadly pleasure, no longer my addiction.
