My Adoption Poem by Kayaeisha Shaw

I am so happy
It is the best day of my life
Nothing is going to change that
Because it feel so right.

As I walk into the courtroom
All eyes are on me
I am the center of attention
My new family is smiling at me.

I know that on this day my world will change forever
April 5,2007 - the perfect day
I am finally a Shaw
And my dreams are a reality

I step out of the courtroom
Reporters and photographers surround me
With my twin brother by my side
I know my life will just get better.

That night my story is on television
I feel like a movie star
And the next day we’re in the newspaper
Now I feel like a super star.

I am so happy
It is the best day of my life
Nothing is going to change that
Because it feel so right.
