My American Road Trips Poem by Vincent Cao Tran

My American Road Trips

Oh, my American road trips
Celebrating a quarter millennium of freedom
We go from East to West
From North to South
I crisscross to Mount Rushmore
Where history's echoes sway,
To New York's towering skylines
Soaring toward infinite skies
We stargaze from Pennsylvania dreamy summer fields,
With lemongrass and forget-me-nots drifting tenderly in the air,
Where neon-bright fireflies fly freely at night
From Mark Twain's hometown
To San Francisco Bay Bridge
Twisting down Napa Valley
Where quiet rolling hills softly sleep
Country roads unwind in gentle sway
To explore rivers and tranquil lakes
Through golden fields and azure skies
Oh, our beautiful America, I love you forevermore
