My Aunt Ophelia Poem by Tammy Ashton

My Aunt Ophelia

Rating: 3.5

I close my eyes
I see your face

I see you happy
in your new place

I see you peaceful
in pain no more

I see you walking
through heaven's door

I close my eyes
I feel your love

I hear your laughter
from up above

You have your coffee
your long Pall Mall
my Uncle Tad

But best of all

You're playing Bingo
winning every prize

It makes me smile
I dry my eyes

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
My aunt passed away just before Christmas this year. She didn't want a lot sadness, so I wrote this for my family to help them deal with the lose of my aunt. They are not very familiar with poetry and if it doesn't rhyme they can't relate. Please be kind in your comments, honest, but kind. Thank you
