My Baby Girl Poem by christie stewart

My Baby Girl

The day you came into my life
would be a day I'd never forget
the shock and surprise of that stick turning blue
I knew in my heart, I was meant for you.

we talked awhile and made the choice
to bring you into this world,
with so many unsure feelings
we prayed you'd be a girl.

As you grow inside me
a strong willed little girl.
I couldn't wait to meet you
and bring you into the world

nine months went flying by
your delivery, some minor glitches
8lbs 1/2oz
mummy needed stitches.

tears and smiles, we all shared
seeing you for the first time.
it was the proudest moment of my life
you were healthy and you were mine.

and so the years are flying by
my baby girl will soon be nine
Watching you grow to the person you are
is something clearly Devine.

my vulnerable little baby girl
now the young lady I'd pray she'd be
so beautiful and confident
strong willed and sweet.

I love you my precious one,
baby girl of mine
I am proud to be the mother
of a child so sweet and sublime
