My Beautiful Eagle Poem by Ronald Chapman

My Beautiful Eagle

In my sky at dawn, you are a beautiful Eagle,
And your long wings and soft feathers are the way I love them.
You are mine, a woman with blond hair and blue eyes,
In your life, my infinite dreams have come true.

The depth of my soul dyes your long wings.
My sour life is sweeter on your soaring wings.
Oh, reaper of my evening loneliness.
How solitary I am. Believe you to be my cure
for this loneliness.

You belong to me, you're mine, I go shouting it to the rising,
Sun, and the wind hauls on my widowed life.
Huntress of the depths of my soul, your plunder,
Stills my heart regards you as though it were held by your hand.

You are taken in the dawn of my life, my love,
And my heart of music as wide as the sky.
My love is born on the shore of your eyes of blue.
In your time of mourning the land of a new life and love begins.
