My Best Friend - Poem by melissa fox
Sometimes I wish the tear in my eye
Would just stop welling up and dry
Have you no sight of the pain in my heart?
Like a knife you slice thru
Everyones heart
Taking this taking that
Giving back what you praise though
You know me not more than I know myself
And you still try hard to mend
Im not seeing your empathy all I see is your apathy
Tell me how you can love me with your eyes closed
I tried hard to let it go
Let all the words you said to me
All the tones in your voice,
Rejection, denial, pain, the lies
Let it go
But then you didn’t even notice when I cried
You didn’t even notice how I tried
My Best Friend
Till the End
