My Best Friend Poem by John Hubschman

My Best Friend

It’s been three years since that day,
That filled my life with dismay.
Since then I have shed some tears,
And been forced to face some fears.

I look back now with some regrets,
Through all the fights the middle we met.
I thought I knew the sacrifices you made,
But now I know many more today.

It wasn’t easy but you handled them all,
I hope to do the same or I will fall.
I truly loved you with all my heart,
I should have told you from the start.

I need you now more then ever,
But I’m also happy you’re better forever.
Till the day we meet again,
I will be missing my best friend.
