Today, I received a bill
It wasn't in the mail, but on my will,
For my sin and my shame and my pain
And for my judging and for my worries and strain.
It Included all of my past mistakes
Which I heard everyone at one time or the other makes,
And the bill was very long
Which included every time that I did wrong.
It included my loneliness and my every rejection
Including the wrong paths and taking the wrong direction,
And the bill included my slavery to sin
And also the terrible places where I have been.
It included my sadness and my bereft
It then included my spiritual death,
And it was presented unto me when it came due
That same bill one day will be presented unto everyone too.
When the bill was finally presented unto me
I was in tears from what I did see,
The amount that I owed and that I saw
It was a zero balance because Jesus already paid it all.
For the wages of sin is death
When you breathe in your very last breath,
But, the gift of God is eternal
Make sure your soul heads not for Hell's infernal.
Follow the Lamb and not the sword,
Life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
