My Boys And My Girls Poem by Rebecca Ryan

My Boys And My Girls

vs.1 Five years old, got nowhere to go but home.
At age nine, boys still had cooties and nothin' much was goin' on.
Now 13, there's lots of drama with guys and life.
I hope that someday it will turn out right.
(chorus)
It used to be that I'd have to worry no more.
Sometimes I wish it could go back to the way it was before.
I thank God I have the best freakin' people around me in the world.
Don't know what I'd do without them; my boys and my girls.
vs.2 Sixteen, had my sweet party, and it's the middle of high school.
At 18, on my way to college; it's gonna be so cool.
When I reach 25, nothin's gonna stop me from sharin' my heart full of romance.
But right now, it's funny how the earth is still spinnin', even though it's out of balance.
(chorus)
Bridge: I hope that I won't have to cry much now.
I'd like to be happier, but I don't know how.
(instrumental)
(chorus) x2
Ohh, Don't know what I'd do without them;
My boys and my girls.
Yeahh, I thank God for
My boys and my girls!
