My Breath Poem by Edwina Reizer

My Breath

I huffed and puffed
and saw my breath
flying through the air.
I saw it through the cold of winter
but then it went somewhere.
A part of me was traveling
on a journey all its own.
And as it was inhaled by others
I knew how much I'd grown.
I had made a connection
with othersI don't know
just by huffing and puffing
and letting my breath go.
I wondered whose breath
I just breathed in
and if we'd ever meet?
For it might be the breath
of a genuine soul
or one filled with deceit.
