My Brilliant Performance Poem by Namita Rani Panda

My Brilliant Performance

Do you think how I can dance
with stifled dreams, lost identity,
chained feet and shackled hands?
Come and watch my brilliant performance,
how the chains of customs and prejudices
can be mine tinkling of anklets and brightest bangles.
But I'll no more dance like your loyal puppet,
I'll dance MY DANCE throughout the night
to the tune of my shattered heart
with harmonious feet and stubborn spirit
till it breaks into a bright day light.
Smiling through my tears
I'll give you endless cheer,
Come and watch my radical rhythm
you'll turn completely mum,
watching my brilliant performance
you will be in timeless trance,
I'M DAMN SURE!
