My Broken Beating Heart Poem by RACHEL ZARANTONELLO

My Broken Beating Heart

Rating: 5.0

I never meant to love you.
It happened so very fast.
Just really getting to know you
Not being part of your past
You really aren't that special
What keeps me drawn to you?
Too many reasons. It's everything you do.
I should have known better
But I was blind to you
My presence never even mattered
I was simply something for you to do
I'll give you up now.
I am well on my way.
I won't let you cross my mind or
bother me today.
A broken heart still beats
although filled with sorrow
Will it ever heal?
Or just steal away my tomorrow?
