My Brother Poem by Kimberly Santistevan

My Brother

Rating: 5.0

When I listen to your music
I always get lost.

All the notes seem so deep and sad.
But somehow,
It has a way to calm me down.

I close my eyes,
Take deep breathes
And then stop crying those lonely tears.

I listen to what it tries to tell me,
I hear a hidden story
With every song that I listen to.

I look up to you
Because you have passed a gift onto me
And I use it everyday.

I try to write all my emotions
And let people have a glimpse
Of my life as I feel it.

Your music is my ultimate cure
To escape from my deepest
And depressing thoughts that run
Through my mind each second.

I got to see you perform live
A few months ago.
And as I was staring at you on the stage,
Tears started forming in my eyes.

I was so proud of you
And I am thankful I have you as
An older brother.

I just want to let you know
How much you inspire me to write and go on
Each day…
