My Brother's Birthday Poem by Marilyn Lott

My Brother's Birthday

Today is my brother's birthday
And memories fill my mind
I think about so many things
Halloween is one that I find.

Back in those days when we
We kids, we loved Halloween
I think about the masks we wore
So strange now they sure seem.

As a teenager way back then
Rod had a rubber mask
He peeked into the kitchen window
As I was going about my tasks.

A gorilla looked in and so scared me
I screamed as loud as I could
If only I could go back in time
You can bet that I truly would.

But I can't, I can only remember
There is so much I could say
I cherish our special childhood
On this my brother's birthday!
