My Caring Has Run Dry Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

My Caring Has Run Dry

The River Jordan is shrinking
The Dead Sea is dying
Wells eventually run dry
Acid rain tears I'm crying

Friendship needs care
to keep it flowing
something lost
on those unknowing

When friendship is just one caring
when there is not longer sharing
friendship is dying
sadness falls on the one trying

Just this one last tear
a memory I thought would last
you used to have a heart for more than you
but that was in the past

But now it's easier to see though
if you have a heat heart that's true
it's clear it's only for yourself
Your friends forgotten on a dusty shelf

To hear you say goodbye
To casually dismiss friends who try
Because you lover hurt you
I have no tears for you left to cry

I don't understand hurt like this
though I'll forgive you by and by
It's only by the grace of God
that I find a reason to try

My caring has run dry
