My Coffin Poem by Richard Sopko

My Coffin

Rating: 5.0

Bang! Goes each and every nail in my coffin
All the noise is disturbing and I find it quite perturbing
That I'm put inside a coffin when I'm just not very dead
I'm confused that I might lose my life inside this unwanted bed

Hoist! It goes when they put me in the ground
So the worms can borrow deeply into the new toy they've found
They will find it so delightful when I kill them to be spiteful
I'm the first ever corpse they've seen move around

Crunch! Goes the dirt as they bury me in my coffin
All the cracks of light are gone, so I start to hum a song
Slowly do I realize that I may not escape this fate
I hiss out a whisper 'oh this isn't great'
