My Control Poem by Kurt Schenker

My Control

Death its all around me
I can touch it I can feel I can smell it
Its horrible wretched it burns my nostrils as my nose fills with the stench
Death he watches me impatient as He waits for my final breath

I've escaped him before and I'll do it again
You won't take me from my friends
When I find my purpose when I find the reason to live
You come to taunt me to loosen my ties

You pull my knots loose you melt my seals
You tear down my walls trying to get to me
Trying to kill me
But I fight for this life I wont stop

This life its mine I own it you can't take it
I have control you may be death, but I am life
I'll live this life to the fullest and when I die you won't take me
I'll surpass you once again Death you're not my lord you don't rule me
You're not the one who lives through me
