My Creed, Unveiled Poem by Mohammad Younus

My Creed, Unveiled

I believe in the One, the Eternal Creator,
Who shaped the heavens and stitched the earth,
Who whispered existence into every being,
And who remains closer than our veins.
I believe in the sacred line of messengers,
Each a torchbearer in the long night of humanity,
And in Muhammadﷺ, the Seal of Prophets,
Whose light still guides the wandering hearts.

I believe in the Qur'an, the Word divine,
A revelation spanning twenty-three years,
Each verse a drop of mercy,
Each chapter a map to the soul's journey home.
Its wisdom, timeless and profound,
Is not locked behind the fortress of grammar,
Nor chained to scholars' tongues.
Instead, its meanings bloom for those who surrender,
For those who lean into the silence
And trust in the divine intelligence gifted to them.
God suffices, the Guide unerring,
Always present, always near.
No intermediary need intervene,
For the Qur'an whispers its secrets
To the heart attuned to its melody.

I believe in the Sunnah, the Prophet's living Qur'an,
Not merely words but the poetry of deeds,
His life, a canvas painted with mercy,
An embodiment of truth and love.
To know him is to see the Qur'an alive,
To feel its breath in the smallest acts of compassion.
Yet discernment is our responsibility,
For not every echo belongs to his voice.

His words must align with the Qur'an's light,
They must resonate with reason's call
And stand tall against the winds of time.
They must carry the fragrance of mercy,
For he was a mercy to all worlds.
They must uphold ethics in their loftiest form,
For his character was exalted, unmatched.
They must not clash with truth proven by science,
Nor entertain the shadows of superstition.

In this, self-awareness is the key,
A lantern lit by divine wisdom.
Turn inward, where eternal knowledge dwells,
And enlightenment unfolds like a dawn
Breaking across the soul's horizon.

Here, in these truths, my beliefs stand firm:
A monolith against the shifting sands of doubt,
A bridge spanning the chasm of confusion.
To believe is not to chain oneself,
But to set the soul free
In the infinite expanse of divine love and guidance.
