My Dark Door Poem by Monkee Thompson

My Dark Door

When you speak to me I always listen
Not always by choice
But moved by the power In your voice
The things that you tell me
That I must keep secret
The desires you have
And the dreams that you've made
But no longer will I keep these at your bidding
Your dark past must be unhidden
What you've done and make me do
No longer the power lies with you
For I am free to explore
The darkness that lies beyond the door
Your voice will no longer hold me back
I banish you or what ever is left
Now you will do as I request
Keep quiet now as I explore
That darkness that is behind the door
The door you see is my own mind
And no longer now am I trapped inside
The voice you see has gone away
But am I better, safe or sane
