My Darkest Hour Poem by Allyson Gordon

My Darkest Hour

In my darkest hour
All my fears come to life
In these burning flames
I’m drowning once more

In the dead of the night
Death watches over me
In the cold silence
The memories haunt me

In the pain and sorrow
I see no way out
In the scars I bare
My sins are shown

In this cruel punishment
I’m reminded again
In love’s warm embrace
I am content

In love and lonely
Is what I’ll always be
In hate and spite
Revenge seeps in

In the shelter of your arms
I am away from reality
In love with death
I can’t refuse freedom
