My Destruction Poem by Ann Thrope

My Destruction

I'm trying to forget,
cause i think it might just kill me.
I can't remember,
i won't let myself do that.
I forgot how much it hurt,
how much i needed you.
And in just one second,
one flash of your voice,
i am enraptured yet again.
I keep falling,
deeper and farther,
and there's nothing to grab,
nothing to catch me,
and i am going to die.
I can feel it coursing through my blood,
I can feel it in the pounding of my heart.
I know for sure
there's no other alternative,
cause i know my love is killing me,
i know loving her will hurt me,
burn me,
destroy me.
