My Doubts-Break Up Poem

Rating: 3.8

A Letter to Erica:

How can I embrace you?
When we are ripped apart by oceans of tears.

How can we share a common ground?
When I am the shades and shadows of olive brown,
And you are the only white diamond in my crown.

How can our love withstand?
When I am the dignity of the Arabian sands,
And you are the bearer of the cross, marching to retake the holy land.

How can we mend a broken heart?
When I am a lonely wolf standing up to the moon filled sky,
Grieving our future with a howling cry.

Is there any hope for us?
Darling, I see the sun rising over the darkness of my doubts,
And water flowing in the land of drought.

Yes, love and hope are always alive.
