My Dream Was Just In My Mind. Poem by Mahfooz Ali

Here I am in this strange land
dreaming I was on the beach walking hand in hand
but not with anyone,
It was the girl of my dreams
Where I dreamt of being a father of two kids
And she be the mother of my kids
The picture is so clear, realistic it seems
We stop at a dark secluded part of the beach
The love of my life I go to reach
Then I find the courage to get on one knee
For her decision I anxiously wait to see
But then the picture starts to fade away
I wake up knowing that this won’t happen any day
So I will have to put this all behind
Because the girl in my dream was just in my mind.
