My Emotional Tryst With The Northeast Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

My Emotional Tryst With The Northeast

When I was a small child,
I used to hear the tales
Of the distant hilly Northeast
In a tell tale version of narrative and anecdote
And I lost into the hearing
So was the impact coaxing me into.

When i was a child,
They used to tell of Kamrupa Kamakhya,
The tantra sadhna
Away from homes
Into the aboriginal hills
Farther and farther away.

They used of Nagaland and the Naga sadhus,
Their ascetic lives and austere sadhna,
Their akhadas, their celibacy
And the mind used to be with,
The sadhus,
Sadhus from Nagaland.
