My Father Poem by Christopher Andrew

My Father

a hammer's bang
a man insane
a vow of commitment
a vow... a hip went
what will it take
to stop my father
from banging his way
to his coffin
we call it work-a-holic
and no fruit will solve it
i travel on weekends
hoping to meet him
to see him to shake his hand
spend some time feet to sand
