My Father, My Treasure Poem by Sam Backer

My Father, My Treasure

Rating: 4.0

My father my treasure,
I wish, he were still living!

In vain I am still hoping;
While the world is all moving!

His goodness ever living;
Indeed he was my blessing!

His love so selfless,
So badly I am missing!

In my cries I am turning,
To hear his words, so comforting;

In my happiness I am looking,
To see him, so smiling;

In my sorrows I am breaking,
Only to remember him calming me down;

His hands so caring,
I am always cherishing!

His presence so yearnng,
The loss is ever saddening!

Before my little gems I am sighing;
For he went without seeing!

My heart is still weeping,
I know there is no returning;

In me, the wind of pride is blowing;
For I am his daughter darling!
