My Friend Love
The pain of my mother.
The respect of my father.
I take it all with me
As life pulls me under.
Where has Love gone to?
Why has it stopped?
We used to be friends
Back when true friends were tops.
I used to trust Love
With my heart and my mind,
But the pull of the world
And the pain were unkind.
Will they all hurt me
As my past has once proved?
The tingling bonds that
My Love has removed.
