My small and lovely daughter daughter
Of my refugee heart
Snatch you not
Her happiness,
The smiles of
My refugee daughter
Seeking food and shelter.
Had been a gipsy in the vagaries of life,
But now a refugee,
Matted haired
And in torn frock
And with the tears dried
In her eyes,
A gipsy,
A gipsy girl,
A refugee,
Refugee.
