My Girl Poem by Victoria Ukpong

My Girl

Rating: 4.0

We've made a great relationship since childhood.
We've had our differences
but nothing lasts forever.
You came into my life,
I entered your world.
We cried, quarrelled
and stopped talking to each other.
I made you my friend
and loved you as family.
Criticized from every corner
but we stood our grounds.
Shared lots in common
but thought as lies.
Suddenly;
you left without a goodbye, stabbed me in the face
and hurt my feelings.
Our chances ruined.
Lost your comfort, warmth
and your love.
It hurt many times when I recall. Us together getting happily,
took so long to get over you.
Mum telling me
'such a good friend you were'.
And I wondered if I didnt know of it.
Wept at night, soaked my pillows, talked to friends
about how to get you back. Recalling our times together.
Until I realised I didnt lose you forever.
You were just angry for falling down the train.
The train we were in together.
I felt sad and hoped you'd understand that life isn't a bed of roses.
My Girls;
your wonderful, laughing at your lies and feeling secured.
Its just us in this world
and we can rule it together.
If only you believe...Girlie
