My Kind Poem by Victoria Ukpong

My Kind

You told me I should stay away from you and
I stood back to ask why?
But you told me nothing and shoved me away.
I beard the embarrassment and still came back.
Then you said 'I'm not used to talking to girls'.
It was funny but it hurt inside, you felt big and I tried being humble. Best buddies now worst mates and people wondered why.
They'd ask me and I referred them to you.
Your reply to them was a cold nothing.
Did everything possible to change your mind but prove came in.
I decided to then keep my distance,
then you started acting weird. Talking to girls and playing with them, keeping too quite which isn't your thing,
staying deep in thought as if mourning.
The worst of it all was staring at me as if we never met.
My king is really hard to find. Being friends was all I asked for and now, your the one pleading. In your silence, stares, plays, everything while I just dont give a damn.
I cared before but no more, my chances I gave to you,
but what did you do to it? ? ?
You miss me, so I've seen,
I missed you,
yes I recall our memories.
You want me back,
oh! That will be long...
You love me....I've heard of it..
