My Girl Marries Her Man Poem by Clester James Rabuyo

My Girl Marries Her Man

'Imagine watching a wedding of the girl who promised to marry you,5 years ago.'

Today.
Here I am.
Watching the lady dressed in white, while
Reminiscing moments as she walks through the aisle.

Each step her feet takes,
Tantamounts a tear, my eye drops.
As I stare at her, holding bunch of roses
I hear her voice and the freshness of her promises.

She looked beautiful, she did, she really is
Walking ponderously, taking moment with bliss
I asked myself, 'Am I the only one crying? Why?
Why can't I stop the tears in my eye? '

Half way of the church's aisle, she's now in
The reality, in my mind, is now sinking in
My girl is gonna marry her man
The girl who told me that I am the one

I can hear everybody clapping, yelling
And my reticent heart leaping, fastly beating
She's now in front of the altar, and of her man
I cried a river as I remember where did we begun

And now, that you're in front of the altar
Acoustic stopped, beautiful music from the guitar
Then you asked me, as you saw me crying,
'Why are you crying while everyone's enjoying? '

You approached me
And you wiped my tears away
Like how you usually do
And so, I answered you

I am crying.
For I can't imagine that the lady who used to be my girl. Is now about to marry her man.

I am crying.
Remembering that you promised to marry me and I am your only one and I'll be the one.

I ain't crying in sadness.
I am crying in happiness.
For now, you have fulfilled your promises.
I love you my 'Mrs.'
