My Goal Supreme (Sonnet # 211) Poem by Tina Baaklini

My Goal Supreme (Sonnet # 211)

I need not tell you details of my dreams
I need not tell you my destination
The longings of my heart, my goal supreme
The source of my soul's passion and elation.

What is the sea to a drop of water?
Is the drops heartbeat not heard by the sea?
Will a sunray ever be a stranger
To the sun that carries it endlessly?

Thus your heart is never a stranger to mine
Your love is all I ever needed and more
You captivated me till the end of time
With your boundless tenderness, my only goal.

All I dream of is your heart, your arms, your eyes
You make me breathe the breeze from paradise.
