Before the year takes its final bow,
Grateful words I must speak ere it concludes.
Thank you for embracing me and my flaws,
And for your patience with my seasonal moods.
In poetry, I breathe out my silenced words,
To your kind heart, my feelings I confide.
Still, you are all that matters to me in this world,
Deep in my heart and soul, there you reside.
With your love, my mentor, life is worthwhile,
Thank you for helping me love who I am.
In your tender heart, my home, I dwell and smile,
On paper we write our love, not on sand.
You are the miracle I needed to live,
O soulmate, you'll always be—my greatest gift.
