My Grey Eyes Poem by Christal Carpenter

My Grey Eyes

Rating: 0.5

When you look into my gray eyes
Can you tell that I've been crying
Does it give away the hurt, the pain
The soul inside thats dieing
Can you see past the allusion
Do they give away the silence
Right after the scream

When you look into my gray eyes
Can you see the nightmares, my hidden dreams
Can you see all that I've seen
The memories replaying in my mind
Are they windows to my thoughts
My truths, my lies
Can you see everything I've hidden from view

When you look into my gray eyes
Can you see all the scars that I've seen
Results of emotions set free
The loss of blood, the haunting sting
My want to end my life
Can you see the death in my eyes
My want to let go

When you look into my gray eyes
Can you see that I've been trying
Can you see my love for you
How you keep me from going
The glitter in my eyes
When I see you smile, when I see you laugh
My want to stay in your arms forever
And love you for always
