My Halo Is So Gone... Poem by Robin Rodriguez

My Halo Is So Gone...

I'm so tired of trying to,
Shine this halo for you
'Cuz I think all of us already know
That I've fallen too far for you to see.

Who knows when this all began,
Maybe that night I did that dare
But it was only once and so much fun.
How could that be wrong? ? ! !

I know all the consequences,
And I can't seem to care
If I go one step further down
This uneven way
How much more fun could I have? ?

This whole angel thing
Could have taken me to the top
But shining that darn halo
So many times
Took all the glow away.

Sorry but when I
Fell down that steep incline
From those hallowed halls.
I couldn't bring myself back up,
And now I'm having too much fun!

So I'll just put my halo
In a safe place in my heart
There'll be a time for angels
But until then so long, take care.

I've got my own agenda
And sure right now it's blank
But give me time
And when I look back
It'll be filled in with...
Colors from everywhere,
People that stopped to care,
Places... I'll see everything! ! !

Maybe it's not right
To throw life to chance
But that's just how I'll live
And maybe everything will turn out all right! !
