I’ve always wanted to love you
God knows I’ve tried
I’ve reached out with my heart
But it’s always been denied.

I’ve tried to lead my heart
in the right direction
it very often makes mistakes
with very few corrections

My heart just doesn’t listen
it does what it wants to do
I’ve tried to teach it love
I tried to teach it about you

I know sometimes my heart
can be very stubborn
and after all its mistakes
it still will never learn

You are in my life
and I always want you there
and even though I love you
my heart just doesn’t care.
