My Heart's Desire Always Poem by Joyce Hemsley

My Heart's Desire Always

My dearest, I admired you.
The only one I truly loved.
You were kind and dependable
You were fine and respectable.

No-one knows how much I cared,
And of the passion we both shared.
You were my 'darling' and my friend
With a love I could not comprehend.

Then you left...we were not young!
In the autumn of our days.
Now, when I dream, I dream of you
~~My heart's desire~~always.

Flowers I place upon your Stone
And I walk away to pine alone.
