My Heart Vs. My Mind Poem by Tina Baaklini

Once upon a time,
My heart said to my mind:
'Where have you been all these years?
Alone you left me;
I was a sheep in the wood among the wolves.'
.

My mind, surprised at what he just heard, said:

'I never left you, not even for a second.
But you trusted the woods
And you believed every word the wolves said.
While I didn't tell you the sweet words you love to Hear, yet I cared for you 365 days a year.

God knows that you can't make it on your own;
Thus, He created me—the mind, the will, the soul, and the other subtle bodies.

Let's work all together, hand in hand, shall we?
As a flock of birds, together we're strong, can't you see? '
