My Hearts Advice Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

My Hearts Advice

My heart and I, we spoke today.
It sighed in a tired, weary way.
'Your old ways hurt me, ' it did cry.
'The drinks, the smokes, the salty fry.

You fed me things that made me ache,
And clogged the paths for goodness sake.
My pipes grew stiff, my flow grew slow,
The pressure built, a heavy woe.

"So listen now' it said to me,
'One last time, you must now agree.
If drinks you crave, let wine be near,
And put aside the smoky fear.

Eat good hearty things, and move your feet,
Keep your weight down, life is sweet.
Less worry, too, is what I ask.
Start now, begin this vital task.

Pick just one thing, and make it right,
And shine again, with all your might."
